@$#%@$%#%^#%3 Rune @$%@$% Challenge!!

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by Warlock Tigerwolf, Apr 13, 2011.

  1. So I log in, and have 24 chips available, and need 34 hands won.

    I use very basic system, 2-7 higher, 9-A lower, 8 opposite of preceding result.

    now I have 0 chips available and need 28 hands won.

    6 our of 24!!!!!!!!

    That is all, just wanted to vent.

  2. I've had similar experiences with the Rune Challenge. At this point I'm only doing them to get the achievements. The big XP and small FP payout isn't enough to make me do more than that.

    I'd like to hear from any player that enjoys this part of the game...maybe I am missing something?

    Nope, not really. I'm going through to get my achievements as well.
    The Hunter/TreasureHunt Challenges of VC/PC respectively are MUCH better.

    Aegir's Passage Rune Challenge is a great way to farm FP's. You can, with a bit of luck, do three of them, daily. 6FP's guaranteed.

    But I still have to agree, overall seen they are rather annoying and not worth investing more than the minimum needed for the achievements.

    personally I just play them because I am a bit of a completist, besides some of the prizes are pretty cool

    it has been posted that there odds are way off and all they say is that there not so basicly sucks to be you they couldnt care that many people have posted the same thing so we must be wrong because there perfect they dont care

    Let me attempt to translate:
    Players say the odds are wrong.
    KANO says the odds are not wrong and will do nothing about it.
    Sie summarizes this by saying "Sucks to be you. KANO doesn't care how many times this issue has been posted. KANO is perfect, so we must be wrong. KANO doesn't care."

    Am I correct?
    See, I recall (after quite a bit of many players posting) that one or more KANO officials took a look at the code to double check. I also recall that I posted that the few who DO post about the Challenge always have problems and that they are a VERY small number (statistically insignificant and due to random chance) compared to those who have normal or good luck.

  8. Note to anyone else like Sie, I was complaining about my luck, not the challenge itself. I don't do them for xp or gold, I do them for the drops and achievements. Most often to use the drops to make blacksmith items

    I had to quote you skyler I ADORE that pic, such a cute kitty!!

    Quoted it from the "Want a good laugh?..." thread. But I recognized it as a classic LOLCat.

    well no wonder, with that system ya prob miss on all the 7's and 8's. i do 2-6 higher, 7-A lower, idk seems to have decent odds. seems i miss 6's and 7's the most tho. idk maybe doing 6's and 7's the opposite of preceding hand would work better.

  11. you're kidding right?

    you have to be, see 2-7 is the lowest 6, 8 is exactly center, 9-A is the higher 6.

    So how do you calculate that picking lower on 7 where there's 5 lower and 7 higher is more statistically probable?

    The system's the same I use, with the exceptions of 8s were I just try my luck and click what my instinct tells me to.

    I think I never had such a bad luck, my condolences.

    And sometimes, just for shits and giggles, I choose higher for 9s and 10s and lower for 6s and 7s.

    I usually lose 25-50% of cards. This card game sucks.

    I can't even describe how much I'd want to play "real" cards for real money with kenny!

    On another thread, he doesn't grasp the basic probability concept that a 5% chance of success (on the easter calendar) doesn't guarantee you success once EVERY twenty chances. In fact, if odds hold throughout the VC universe, about 30% will miss the big payout on all 24 days.

    Wait, that was the same person?

    BWAHAHAHAHA!!!:D
    I had to explain to my ENTIRE lab group the other day that, when you go from centimeters to millimeters (1 order of magnitude), you multiply by 10.:cool:
    But when you are doing area (____meters SQUARED), you multiply by 100.
    Eventually I gave up and found the professor to back me up. :rolleyes:

    I just want to add myself to the group whining about this part of the game. Regardless of winning hands or not, I just HATE it. I let a challenge expire last week and I just can't bring myself to start a new one. There are so many flipping challenges, and so many hands in each one. It just seems to never end. I only need to complete a few more and I will be done, but I just keep putting it off

    so, if you are ever looking for player input to change this game, please change this part of it. I would rather play a hand of solitaire or bejewelled or something in place of this. or ANYTHING. even the part where I had to shoot the animals was not that bad. Since we have ships, maybe we could have a fishing game

    did I mention that I HATE this part of the game?

    huh??????????????

    there are 7 cards higher than a 7 and 5 cards lower
    there are 6 cards higher than a 8 and 6 cards lower
    there are 5 cards higher than a 9 and 7 cards lower

    i just now saw that there are more messages after the first page but i decided to post this anyway due to the quote...LoL

    Indeed.

    There was at least one post somewhere with actual percentages listed.
    Okay, each time the dealer draws, it is considered a new deck of 52 (13 numbers and 4 suits). He draws and now there are 51. There are still 3 cards of that number, so you have a 3/51 chance of tying.
    When the dealer shows a(n):
    • 2 -> you have 48/51 cards higher in value;
    • 3 -> you have 4/51 cards lower in value and 44/51 cards higher in value;
    • 4 -> you have 8/51 cards lower in value and 40/51 cards higher in value;
    • 5 -> you have 12/51 cards lower in value and 36/51 cards higher in value;
    • 6 -> you have 16/51 cards lower in value and 32/51 cards higher in value;
    • 7 -> you have 20/51 cards lower in value and 28/51 cards higher in value;
    • 8 -> you have 24/51 cards lower in value and 24/51 cards higher in value;
    • 9 -> you have 28/51 cards lower in value and 20/51 cards higher in value;
    • 10 -> you have 32/51 cards lower in value and 16/51 cards higher in value;
    • J -> you have 36/51 cards lower in value and 12/51 cards higher in value;
    • Q -> you have 40/51 cards lower in value and 8/51 cards higher in value;
    • K -> you have 44/51 cards lower in value and 4/51 cards higher in value;
    • A -> 48/51 cards lower in value.

    Here are the percentages (chances out of 51):
    1. -> 1.96
    2. -> 3.92
    3. -> 5.88
    4. -> 7.84
