Main Page Menu

I really like the flow of the main page on the apps. Was curious if all the choices from the drop down menu could be added to the left with the "new item #" and eliminate the drop down menu altogether? This way by clicking on the left side menu item the page will auto change without having to use the drop down at all. Currently, if the drop down menu is selected to boss requests & I click on Social Feed the page remains on boss requests. I still have to use the drop down menu to change it.
